From Sane to Insane

Today Alena came over to hang out and watch The Haunting in Connecticut. I wasn’t expecting anything great, but it surprised me! I actually jumped at a few scenes, and there was more to the story than just ghosts and creepy images. 

The story revolves around a teenager named Matt, who suffers from a cancer. He’s going through radiation treatment and his family is trying to cope with his state. They move to a home which is affordable, and almost perfect, to get closer to the hospital. Matt starts seeing ghosts and strange things which no one else can see. The parents think he’s hallucinating from the treatment, all until they start seeing the strange events. As the story unveils and Matt gets worse the spirits get angrier. 

The movie was supposed to be based on true events, which I don’t personally believe, but it was pretty good. The plot had a backbone which most horror flicks don’t have these days. Maybe it was because I had seen The Haunting of Mary Hartley and it turned out to be the worst movie ever made, or it was just a decent film. But, it was good enough for me to say nothing bad about it. I also think I’ll buy it in the future for one of those rainy day movies.

It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over. it seems only yesterday that it was the first day of dive practice. (I dive at my pool during the summer with sterling.) It was divisionals today. Which is where everyone in the division (ours is two) competes to see who goes to all stars, where all the divisions compete. I’ve been 3 or 4 times. It’s not that exciting. Your self esteem drops cause all the judges do is score you lower and score the US divers higher. I didn’t qualify this time. And neither did Sterling, which he was super happy about. He beat me by .45 points. (our scores: 125.50 to 125.95) He took fourth and I took fifth. I didn’t care that much, I just came to have fun. After the ‘fun’ meet we went back to his house and I went crazy with front and back flips on his trampoline, which I usually hate to do, but I did! He was shocked cause I never do back flips!!! When I got home I realized that the end of dive was near and the beginning of band camp was coming ever so close. It scares me even more cause I haven’t done any of my assignments for the summer!!! But I usually get them done pretty quickly, so I’m not too worried. Well, I guess that’s it for tonight. Bye!

I love writing about my life and sharing it with people. Especially my friends… or maybe just my friends… but I never get to do that… so this is a chance to start it up again.
